  • NH Threads on Inlet Female and Outlet Males
  • National Standard Thread (NST) also known as National Hose thread (NH): It is the most common type of fire hose coupling used in the United States.
  • National Pipe Thread Taper (NPT): Is a U.S. standard for tapered threads used on threaded pipes and fittings.
  • National Pipe Straight Hose (NPSH)Is the same as NPT but the thread does not taper. NPSH is a straight thread and has a gasket in the female coupling just like NH/NST.
  • Garden Hose Thread (GHT): This thread seals via washer in the female coupling and is not compatible with the other threads. GHT is for 3/4 inch hose and usually connects to a spigot or tap.
  • Storz: A Storz coupling is a quarter-turn or sexless coupling, commonly used to connect to fire hydrants. It is easy to connect, has no particular male or female end, and lugs are on the inside of the joint.
